Housing Break Request

SIGN UP FOR WINTER BREAK HOUSING

The residence halls will close for Winter Break on Friday, December 12th at 6 pm until Sunday, January 18th, 2026. Residents who have a reason to reside on campus during this time frame should submit this form by Thursday, December 11th by 5pm. If you are not staying for the entire break, please include in the comments what dates you will be staying on campus

Any students staying for any portion of winter break will be assessed a $100 mandatory meal plan. This includes anyone who is staying for any part of the break or arriving early before January 18th. Any part of the plan that is not used for winter break will roll over to the spring semester meal plan. For In-season student athletes who are required to be here during break, this fee is covered by Athletics and not billed to your student account.

Only students who meet the following requirements may remain on campus during the break:

  • Student workers who are required to work between December 12th, 2025 after 6pm and January 18th, 2026. Your employer must email our office stating your need to work or you can email us an official copy/screenshot of your work schedule. This includes on and off campus employment. This form needs to be turned into the office of Residence Life by Thursday, December 11th by 5pm, your request will be denied if this is not received by this date.

  • Out-of-state students

  • International students

  • Students required to attend a class/final on campus after 6pm December 12th through January 18th. You must email a copy of your class schedule indicating this course enrollment and date. A copy of your class schedule needs to be turned into the office of Residence Life by Thursday, December 11th by 5pm, your request will be denied if this is not received by this date.

  • Athletes who are approved to move in early do not have to sign up for winter break; the athletics department will provide the Office of Residence Life rosters of athletes and their designated check in days/times for the spring semester. If you’re going to be in the halls at all during break, please sign up.
